Mushroom Trumps – Card Game

Soon I will be launching phase one of my mushroom themed Trump card games.

This first pack ‘EDIBLE MUSHROOMS’ features a selection of our most common edible UK mushrooms. (Not familiar with the game – see the ‘How to Play’ instructions below).

Initially, I will order a small print run, the cost per pack will range from £10 – £12 each, but they are one of a kind – I cannot find any Mushroom Trump card games out there! Like this site, I have made these in my free time and currently do not create any income from my site. I’m hoping that this traditional and fun game will help fund the continuation of the Mushroom Dairy website.

If you’re interested in a future purchase, simply leave your email below to be notified ‘first’ when they are ready. Many thanks.

Rules of the game

  1. Shuffle the deck of cards, and deal out cards evenly to each player. Each player should have the same number of cards, and the top card should only be visible. There must be at least two players, and at least one card for each player.
  2. The starting player should select a category from his or her topmost card and read out its value. This is normally the player sitting on the dealer’s left. For example, if the topic was on cars and the player choose the category “speed”, the player would read out the category and the number next to it.
  3. Every other player then reads out the value in the same of the same category that the starting player choose from their cards. For example, each player in turn would read out their value for the category “speed” on their card.
  4. The person who read out the “best” value wins the “trick”. This is usually this is the largest, but it depends on the category e.g. in the case of sprinting times, a lower value is better. This player takes all the top cards from all the other players and places them at the bottom of his or her pile.
  5. The winner then follows the steps that the starting player did. He/she looks at her/his new topmost card, and chooses the category for the next round, repeating the previous steps again.
  6. The player who ends up with all the cards at the end of the game wins.
